{"id":5487,"date":"2023-11-16T05:37:46","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T05:37:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mic1024.wordpress.com\/?p=5487"},"modified":"2023-12-02T21:41:21","modified_gmt":"2023-12-02T21:41:21","slug":"red-rock-day-10-back-to-the-icebox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/samsel.org\/index.php\/2023\/11\/16\/red-rock-day-10-back-to-the-icebox\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Rock &#8211; Day 10 &#8211; Back to the Icebox!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On day 10 Paul and I decided to go back to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mountainproject.com\/area\/105731945\/icebox-canyon\">Icebox Canyon<\/a> (which we previously visited on day 3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mic1024.files.wordpress.com\/2023\/11\/image-63.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1946\" height=\"1462\" src=\"https:\/\/mic1024.files.wordpress.com\/2023\/11\/image-63.png?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5491\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time however we decided on the other side of the canyon and visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mountainproject.com\/area\/105732147\/sunnyside-crags\">Sunnyside Crags<\/a> area. Spoiler Alert: it wasn&#8217;t sunny at all! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it didn&#8217;t matter &#8211; it was still quite warm (mostly because it wasn&#8217;t windy at all). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For some reason, there aren&#8217;t huge crowds at the crags of that canyon &#8211; despite a pretty easy approach (straight path, maybe 20 mins walk), perhaps because the area is mostly trad, and almost all in the shade and most will prefer the sunny bolted crags of Calico Hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Either way, we started with my lead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mountainproject.com\/route\/105732749\/shady-ladies\">Shady Ladies (5.7)<\/a>, &#8211; Calvin&#8217;s ankles are flaring up a bit so they are taking it slow.
